Bands that tickle my fancy
Local Oregon Bands
Corvallis
Ten Dollar Mic - The only ska band in Corvallis, currently.
Richard Headers
Ws - Christian ska and some stuff they call 'swing.'
Beldings - Christian 'punk.' Actually, I won't be unnecesarily mean. They play their instruments well and are very tight. Good at what they do, although I'm not a big fan of what that is.
Dean Quasar
Felix
Sodomites
Eugene
Accelerators - ska
American Girls - pop with a trumpet. pretty catchy and good.
Billy Jack - Now sadly defunct punk band from Eugene. They were really hilarious, look for their CD in used $5 bins, Wrestling the Bald-Headed Champ.
Brainwashers - surf
Cherry Poppin’ Daddies See my Daddies page!
Double-O-Seven ska
Floater - "the sinister minister's grinning...."
ah, Floater..... Just the mention of that name gives me shivers. I "borrowed" (quoting the term, cuz she ain't gettin' it back anytime soon. heheheh) their newest CD Angels in the Flesh, Devils in the Bone last week, and I've been listening to it nonstop since. When I go to bed at night, when I get up in the morning (or most of the time, when I get up in the afternoon), and a couple of times throughout the day. "the body's a beast and I am the rider. whither the beast goes, so shall I"
Henry’s Child - really hard grueling rock
Hot For Chocolate - really boring alterna crap.
Jollymon - hard rock with some twisted throbbing beats.
Moth
Naysayers
ODH - hardcore band. they jump around a lot and have got quite good at what they do.
Scandals/Lucky Seven Swing Ensemble - formerly the Scandals, a great ska act, they played a fast catchy swing sound. now defunct.
Varicoasters go here to my Varicoasters' page - "Eugene's Best Ska Band!" Actually, Eugene's ONLY ska band, so I guess they take the title by default. (just kidding all you Double-O-Seven fans) Unfortunately, they just BROKE UP!!!! DAMN THEM!!!!!
Portland
Backside Disaster
Counterveil
Five Cent Refund
Sweaty Nipples

Out-Of-Town Bands
Leatherstrip - The best of dark electronica
The P.A.W.N.S. - political punk from Chico, CA. Alternating female/male vocals, this
band has songs that actually MEAN something. Not your typical annoying pop-punk.
Slackers - Traditional sounding ska with gritty vocals and talented instrumentalists.
AFI - sing-a-long hardcore/punk band with anthem like choruses
The Damned - Legendary punk band. From seething punk rock to piano instrumentals,
this band has it all. Very, very VERY good. One of my favorite punk bands, ever.
Circle Jerks - 80s westcoast punk. Funny lyrics, catchy songs.
Pietasters - Rowdy mix of ska and soul. Music To Drink Beer By.
Rammstein - German metal. Was bist du?
Dead Kennedys - Fronted by Jello Biafra, this legendary 80s political punk band will make
you laugh, make you paranoid, and in my case, run around the house with a sock tied
around your head going, “OOEEOOEEOOEEOO”
Crass - Another legendary punk band. The album Penis Envy is one of my favorite
records of all time. The singer must have had some sort of classical training as a girl, as
her 5-octave vocals are always right on target. Listening to this album produces images of
great cathedrals with huge operatic choirs singing their praise to their lord. The lyrics are
incredible as well. It’s one thing to just scream the problems of the world; to weave it into
a storyline...now THAT’s art, baby.
